Hey families! I just wanted to post some information about our Spring Music Program.
It is on Thursday, March 16 at 6:30 pm in the church sanctuary.
I am asking that you dress your child in clothing that is either green or has jungle animals or animal prints on it to go along with our jungle theme.
Children will need to be in their classrooms by 6:00 pm so the teachers will have time to calm any nervous children. I am hoping to have someone videotape the performance, just like at the Christmas program. Then you can sit back and enjoy the show. I will be sure and post the recordings for you to save and share.

You may have already heard your child singing some of the songs we have been rehearsing. If you want to help them learn words, etc., here is what we will be performing:

Pre-Kindergarten Class

      Tarzan                                                             The Learning Station

(We will sing this song 5 times, speeding up each time.
Use hand over hand motion for climbing. Sway from side
to side pretending to hold a vine and jump. Bang your
chest for hungry, chomp with open and closed fingers.
Rub your belly for “Mmm good”.)

Tarzan was climbing up the vine. Jane and the monkey came down
swinging and swinging from side to side
      until they hit the ground.
      Then Tarzan said, “I’m hungry”,
Jane said, “Me too.” Monkey said, “Eeet, eeet”
They all sat and ate the food. Chomp, Chomp,
Mmm good. Chomp, Chomp, Mmm good. Chomp,
      Chomp, Mmm good. Chomp, Chomp.

You can find a video of this song on youTube HERE.

Matilda the Gorilla                                    Mary Rice Hopkins

      I had a pet gorilla
And her name, she was a-Matilda
Matilda loved to sing songs every day
And this is what Matilda the gorilla would say

      Chorus:
Ah-ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ah, ah, ah
Ah-ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ah, ah, ah
Ah-ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ah, ah, ah
      Ooh-ooh-ah, ooh, ooh, ah-ah, ah

Matilda was as happy as could be
She'd eat her bananas and swing from the trees
Now with her friends, you will see
      The singing Matilda family

      (Repeat Chorus)

I Went to the Jungle One Day  (Sung To: "London Bridge")

I went to the jungle one-day, jungle one day, jungle one-day
I saw a monkey on the way and this is what he said, "oh-oh-oh-oh"

I went to the jungle one-day, jungle one day, jungle one-day
I saw a lion on the way and this is what he said, "roar"

I went to the jungle one-day, jungle one day, jungle one-day
I saw a snake on the way and this is what he said, "hiss"

I went to the jungle one-day, jungle one day, jungle one-day
I saw an alligator one the way and this is what he said, “snap”

I went to the jungle one-day, jungle one day, jungle one-day
I saw an elephant on the way, and this is what he said, “wooo”

I went to the jungle one-day, jungle one day, jungle one-day
I saw a toucan one the way, and this is what he said, “squack”

I made it through the jungle one-day, jungle one day, jungle one-day
I made it through the jungle one-day and this is what I said, “whew”

Lamb Class

Five Little Monkeys in a Tree

Five little monkeys swinging in a tree,
Teasing Mr. Alligator, you can catch me, you can catch me....
Along came Mr. Alligator quiet as can be.......
And snapped a monkey right out of that tree!
Four little monkeys swinging in a tree,
Teasing Mr. Alligator, you can catch me, you can catch me....
Along came Mr. Alligator quiet as can be.......
And snapped a monkey right out of that tree!
Three little monkeys swinging in a tree,
Teasing Mr. Alligator, you can catch me, you can catch me....
Along came Mr. Alligator quiet as can be.......
And snapped a monkey right out of that tree!
Two little monkeys swinging in a tree,
Teasing Mr. Alligator, you can catch me, you can catch me....
Along came Mr. Alligator quiet as can be.......
And snapped a monkey right out of that tree!
One little monkey swinging in a tree,
Teasing Mr. Alligator, you can catch me, you can catch me....
Along came Mr. Alligator quiet as can be.......
And snapped…
Missed me! Missed me! Now you gotta kiss me!

We love our friends and teachers too
We love the fun things that we do
We love to laugh, we love to play
We learn new things everyday
Great Escape (clap, clap)
Great Escape (clap, clap)
We love our school!

After the program is over, we ask that you wait until we call your child's class and then you can pick them up from the stage and take them to the reception in Grant Fellowship Hall.
