Thanksgiving Crafts

This week all of the classes are making some great turkey art. Here are the directions for each craft.

Hand Print Turkey - Ponies
First, paint each finger a different color.
The palm and thumb should be brown.
Press the child's hand on the paper.

Add a little red for the turkey's wattle.

Pine Cone Turkey - Red Dinos
We need pine cones, feathers, craft glue,
googly eyes and
orange bump chenille sticks.

First cut a bump out of the chenille stick and glue it to the
pine cone to form the turkey's head.
Next shape the chenille sticks like feet and glue them on.
Then glue on feathers.

Finally glue a red wattle on under the head.
Here is the finished turkey.

Paper plate turkeys - Lambs
Start with a paper plate and draw a turkey body and
feathers as shown above.
Cut out the turkey body as shown and place clear tape over
the feather lines.

Now give the kids water color paint to have fun.

After they are done painting, fold the plate in half and fold the body
up in front of the feathers. peel the tape off and add lines to separate the feathers.
color the beak and wattle and add eyes

Glitter turkeys - Penguins
Start with a large turkey copied onto construction paper. Ask the child what they are thankful for and fill in the  blanks.
Next outline the turkey with glue.

Next sprinkle glitter on the glue.
Shake off the extra glitter onto a paper plate.

You can then add more glue and another color of glitter.

Here is the finished picture.
